Phase Two

The second issuance of Revenue Bonds by DMPS was in the amount of $71,900,000 and approved by the School Board in May 2012. The district borrowed this amount at a true interest cost of 3.45%.

The following school projects, all of which are completed, used these bond proceeds as follows:

  • Central Campus – Balance of renovations of 1st and 2nd floors (east ends), exterior doors, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, security and technology upgrades.
  • Cowles Elementary School – Renovation to eliminate temporary building. Movement of Focus program to Hoyt and elimination of temporary building. Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, security and technology upgrades.
  • Brody Middle School – Addition to eliminate temporary buildings. Four classrooms added. – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, security and technology upgrades, elevator.
  • Edmunds Elementary School – New school building.
  • Findley Elementary School – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, addition to eliminate temporary building and open classrooms, security and technology upgrades.
  • Hiatt Middle School – Exterior door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, remodel to eliminate temporary buildings, student drop-off, security and technology upgrades, elevator.
  • Hoover High School – Door replacement, electrical/HVAC improvements.
  • Hoyt Middle School – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, addition to eliminate open classrooms, security and technology upgrades.
  • Jefferson Elementary School – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, addition to eliminate open classrooms, security and technology upgrades, elevator.
  • Lovejoy Elementary School – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, addition to eliminate temporary buildings and open classrooms, security and technology upgrades.
  • Madison Elementary School – Student drop-off
  • Meredith Middle School – Exterior window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, security and technology upgrades.
  • Park Elementary School – Renovate 1970 wing.
  • Pleasant Hill Elementary School – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, addition to eliminate temporary buildings and open classrooms, security and technology upgrades. Elevator.
  • Prospect – Exterior window replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade.
  • Studebaker Elementary School – Window and door replacement, mechanical/electrical upgrade, asbestos abatement, data and communications upgrade, addition to eliminate temporary buildings and open classrooms, security and technology upgrades.
