DMPS Begins to Expand Online Payment Options

Des Moines Public Schools is working to make it easier for families to pay for various school fees and expenses. The first six schools to use the new system go online today.

The district has teamed with RevTrak, a company that provides secure e-commerce support to school districts and local governments, to begin allowing parents and students to make payments online for various school fees.

“In the coming weeks and months, we hope this service will provide a way for families to pay for everything from yearbooks to student activity fees to child care in a way that is not only convenient, but also safe and secure,” said Kevin Baccam, CPA, controller for Des Moines Public Schools.

During the initial phase, Hanawalt, Cowles, Jefferson, and Pleasant Hill Elementary Schools along with Brody Middle School and Roosevelt High School will be the first schools to have access to the DMPS Web Store on RevTrack. Parents of students at these schools can access RevTrack from the school’s home page during the initial stages of implementation.

If all goes well, all district parents and students will have access to the web store by the end of this school year and in time for registration next year.

From the web store, parents and students can also make payments to existing online payment programs, such as food service and community education classes. Online childcare payments will also be available soon.
