Kayli Becker has been named the new Chief of Staff for Philanthropic Engagement.

Des Moines Public Schools is increasing organizational concentration on strengthening the district’s overall fundraising capacity and sustainability. New Chief of Staff for Philanthropic Engagement Kayli Becker will provide strategic leadership to diversify, strengthen and grow funding opportunities to keep the promise of an innovative and world class education for every student who walks through the doors of our schools.

Becker comes to DMPS with a history of successful engagement in the philanthropic community, from the American Heart Association as the Development Director for the Heart Walk for several years to the Mississippi Regional Blood Center serving as a donor relations consultant. Becker is currently serving on two non-profit community boards – the West Des Moines Human Services Friends Foundation and Greater Des Moines Partnership Young Professionals Connection.

“Kayli Becker’s commitment to student-centered philanthropic engagement, and her awareness of the landscape locally is impressive,” said DMPS Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts. “Additionally, her alignment with my vision to infuse a creative and innovative approach to the superintendent’s office and executive cabinet is inspiring.”

Becker has a Master of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and a bachelor’s degree in public health from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. She aims to bring her education and experience to encourage others to collaborate in addressing the ever-evolving needs of our community.

“Ensuring every student feels that they belong and can thrive in their environment was a simple choice, and DMPS is the best place to make that mission come to life,” said Becker. “I am looking forward to engaging with more community partners than ever before to increase student access across DMPS.”

Becker began her work on February 12, 2024, following Des Moines School Board approval.
