Rain, cold temperatures and high winds didn’t make for the best track and field weather this spring, but that hasn’t slowed down student-athletes representing East, Hoover, Lincoln and Roosevelt from qualifying for the 112th Drake Relays. High school students from DMPS will be competing in thirteen different events at the nation’s premier track and field meet this week

In addition, boys and girls from all ten DMPS middle schools – Brody, Callanan, Goodrell, Harding, Hiatt, Hoyt, McCombs, Meredith, Merrill and Weeks – will compete in the 4×100 during “Friday Night at the Drake Relays” events.

Finally, students from King, Monroe, Morris, Park Avenue, Pleasant Hill and Samuelson will be participating in the elementary school infield shuttle relay.
