DMPS Well Represented at 2012 Iowa State Swimming & Diving Meet

Emilie Skartvedt of Lincoln is one of several DMPS students who qualified for the 2012 Iowa State Swimming & Diving championship meet.

Des Moines Public Schools will be well represented at the 2012 Iowa State Swimming & Diving championship meet as student-athletes from Hoover, Lincoln, North and Roosevelt qualified to pursue state titles.

Among competitors from DMPS are Katherine Ross of North, who set a new state record in the 100 yard breaststroke at last weekend’s regional meet, and Brittany Purscell of Lincoln, the defending state champion in the same event. The Roosevelt Roughriders will have the most competitors in the pool, qualifying for a total of seven individual and relay events.
