Alexander Bernstein to Visit Wright Elementary on Monday

Wright Elementary School will host Alexander Bernstein of the Bernstein Foundation — and son of famous composer Leonard Bernstein — who will observe the school’s implementation of the Artful Learning method.

The event will take place:

Monday, May 14
2:00 PM
Wright Elementary School
5001 SW 14th Street

Wright Elementary School has been named a Legacy School by the Bernstein Foundation after successfully implementing the Artful Learning method of teaching for the past four years. Artful Learning incorporates art concepts into all subjects to keep students engaged in the learning process.

Bernstein will tour the school and visit with educators about the Artful Learning method.

“Our teachers have worked many hours to achieve a high level of rigorous, inquiry-based instruction through the arts theorized by legendary composer Leonard Bernstein,” said Lindsey Cornwell, Wright Elementary School Principal. “We are quite proud of the work we do with children each and every day, making global connections to the arts and the world through visual, auditory and kinesthetic modes. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to share our work with Mr. Bernstein.”
