Central Campus Café Announces Spring Dates

Central Campus culinary arts students.The Central Campus Café announced eight spring openings today. Located at Central Campus, 1800 Grand Ave, in the multipurpose room, the café is open to the public for limited dates during the fall and spring semesters.

Spring 2017 Central Campus Café dates:

  • Friday, April 14
  • Friday, April 21
  • Thursday, May 4
  • Friday, May 5
  • Thursday, May 11
  • Friday, May 12

“This semester the culinary arts students have developed a unique dining experience for their student-run café,” Chef John Andres said. “Reservations are strongly encouraged and menus and reservation details will be available weekly on our Facebook page.”

Culinary Arts students explore opportunities for employment in the hospitality and food service industry through the operation of the student-run Central Campus Café. Students receive their ProStart certification from the National Restaurant Association and compete in local and national competitions. Students plan and prepare food, use institutional equipment, set up the dining room, and serve customers on designated Central Campus Café days. Students also have the chance to visit area restaurants and other hospitality businesses.

Culinary Arts students will participate in the Central Campus Block Party in April, preparing and serving free pasta dishes made-to-order.
