Central Academy

Central Academy offers students from across the Des Moines metro challenging, academically advanced coursework in core academic areas and world languages. Home to Iowa’s only International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Central Academy also offers a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses and six world languages, many of which are unique to central Iowa.

East High School was founded in 1861, with the major structure constructed in 1911. A large renovation was completed in January 2006, which added a new cafeteria, classrooms and administrative offices. East High’s motto “For the Service of Humanity” embraces the schools focus on developing life longs learners who will be productive citizens.

Hoover High School

Hoover High School was built in 1967 to serve the students in Northwest Des Moines. At Hoover, we challenge each member of our learning community to grow in every classroom every day. Roosevelt High School

Theodore Roosevelt High School sits in the heart of the Roosevelt Cultural District. Ruby Van Meter
