DMPS Hires New Principal for Lincoln High School

Paul Williamson, assistant principal at Roy J. Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. will serve as the new principal for Lincoln High School beginning on July 1, 2011, district officials announced today.

The decision to hire Williamson was made following a comprehensive interview process with a committee of Lincoln High School parents, staff, and students. Williamson’s experience developing and implementing career academies in his current position will be of significant value and compliment the career academy structure already in place at Lincoln High School.

Associate Superintendent Terrence Martin, along with the interviewing committee, decided Williamson would be a good fit because of his experience in school innovation planning and background in curriculum and instruction.

“We are confident that Mr. Williamson will be able to work collaboratively with the faculty and staff at Lincoln High School in its transition to strengthen the academic capacity of all learners,” said Martin. “He also will bring new knowledge related to the work that has already been done to implement 21st Century Career Academies.”
