DMPS is searching for a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

The CHRO reports directly to the Superintendent and is a cabinet position, and plays a strategic role in supporting the district’s mission achieving its goals. The CHRO is a highly visible leadership position and serves as the primary advisor to the Superintendent on all issues of human capital and represents district leadership within the community and to the Board of Directors regarding human capital strategies and actions. While there are many opportunities for the new CHRO, key areas that are priorities include:

  • Leading the transformation of human resources management to be strategic and proactive, putting employees at the center, to enhance HR performance and
    customer service.
  • Evaluating the human resources structure, systems and processes to identify areas for change and improvement and develop and begin execution of improvements.
  • Planning and executing professional development and training that develops human capital throughout the organization.
