Prairie Meadows Legacy Grant Supports Upgrades to Track and Practice Fields

Des Moines Public Schools is so grateful to Prairie Meadows for all of their generous support through grants this year. Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino funded a multitude of projects including athletic uniforms, scoreboards, safety equipment, weight room equipment, homeless support, and much more. They also funded one of the district’s largest initiatives this year, the DMPS Track and Practice Field Improvement Project. This project constructs new multi-purpose track and practice field facilities on the campuses of Hoover High School, North High School, and Lincoln High School- the last comprehensive high schools to receive this upgraded facility.

The DMPS Track and Practice Field Improvement Project will support more than 4,870 high school students in their physical education classes, as well as more than 20 athletic teams and programs including, but not limited to: football practice, soccer programs, track and field programs, marching bands, cheerleading practices, and K-8 athletics.

Thank you to our most generous supporter, Prairie Meadows!
