2020 Commencement Schedule

SPECIAL NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, alternatives for how to celebrate the Class of 2020 are actively being considered in a way other than the traditional ceremony involving thousands of people in an auditorium in late May. DMPS is exploring how this will be implemented and is committed to recognizing the accomplishments of our newest graduates.

Between May 22 and 24, hundreds of members of the DMPS Class of 2020 will don their caps and gowns, walk across a stage, and receive their high school diplomas. And from there, each will take the first step into the next stage of their lives.

Commencement is a district-wide celebration of the academic accomplishments that have led each student to the successful completion of high school. It is an uplifting event for all of Des Moines Public Schools as we celebrate each and every graduate.

Congratulations to every member of the Class of 2020 – along with their teachers, parents, family and friends. We look forward to the celebration of our extraordinary students at this year’s commencement ceremonies.
