Students in the Central Campus Broadcasting and Film Program were recognized by the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence for their recent contributions to “Dating Violence Awareness Month.”

Participants were given the opportunity to create public service announcements that acknowledged everyone’s right to be in a safe relationship.  After exploring the attributes of a healthy relationship, the students began production on their contest entries.

Receiving 3rd place was Hoover student Alex Garrett with her radio piece that centered around harassing voicemails.

The 2nd place prize was awarded to Rooseelt students Lexi Ridout and Connor Bredbeck for their radio spot on manipulative texting.

And earning top honors was East student Aaron Hosman for his stop-animation video about keeping relationships honest and healthy.
