Reception Kicks Off Annual Art Exhibit

Garton Elementary School students show their works that will be on display at the DMPS Art Show.

Des Moines Public Schools’ annual student art exhibit will kick off Thursday with a reception for artists at the State of Iowa Historical Building. The event will be held:

Thursday, February 9
5:30 to 7:30 PM
State Historical Building
600 E. Locust Street 

Governor Terry Branstad, Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds, and Director of the Iowa Department of Education Jason Glass will welcome everyone to Thursday’s reception at 5:45 PM. The Hoover High School Jazz Combo also will perform.

Selected art work from students in grades K-12 will be on display beginning Thursday, February 9 through Monday, February 20. Building hours are 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Saturday and Sunday noon to 4:30 PM.
