A Convenient, Affordable Location for Fitness

The DMPS Wellness Center is undergoing some exciting changes.  Conveniently located at 1800 Grand Avenue in Des Moines, the Wellness Center offers an affordable opportunity for the improvement of physical, nutritional and emotional well-being. The Wellness Center is open to both DMPS employees and members of the downtown community.  It features a cardio area, weight room, two gymnasiums, pool, sauna and walking track, all of which have recently been or are about to be renovated.  We invite you to come to the DMPS Wellness Center and see for yourself the changes that have been made!

General Wellness Center Rules

• Valid membership card or proof of membership is required.
• Do not put bags, back packs, or extra items in the hallways.
• No food allowed in any area of the Wellness Center, unless approved by the Coordinator.
• Liquids are allowed in the Wellness Center in resealing plastic containers only.
• No tobacco products allowed in the Wellness Center.
• Appropriate shoes and attire are required at all times.
• Bicycles, skate boards, scooters, rollerblades are prohibited.
• Abusive language, fighting, swearing, arguing, and misuse of equipment are prohibited.
• Wipe down equipment before and after use.
• You are responsible for your own valuables.  Anything lost please give it to a Wellness Center employee as soon as possible.
• Please do not spit on the floors, walls, or in the water fountains.
• Be courteous to other and respect their space.
• You break it you will be responsible to fix it.
